         Project 1 World Update!


In the past few months of the first Project 1 World Team subject on the Environment and Renewable Energy, we have seen some revolutionary advances and a definite increase in awareness.

Here are just a few of the events that have taken place:
 
  • A landmark proactive energy bill was passed requiring that 15% of every utility's power be generated by renewable energy by 2020.
  • A huge increase in alternative energy resources being reported on mainstream media sites, stations and magazines.
  • Al Gore and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change win the Nobel Peace Prize.
  • Senate passed and Energy Bill, that was later signed by Bush, that will significantly strengthen fuel economy standards for the first time in more than a generation.
